My interactive portfolio is a browser-based experiment inspired by Game Boy / 8-bit aesthetics, built with WebGL and JavaScript. Rather than a traditional conversion-driven website, it’s designed as a playful and immersive experience that reflects how I approach web development, interaction, and detail. The focus is on exploration, secrets, and micro-interactions, with the goal of creating something memorable and clearly different from standard portfolios. All graphics and sprites were handcrafted during development. The world is tile-based, with resolutions and visual rules aligned to original Game Boy standards to keep the reference consistent and authentic. The project spread organically through word of mouth within developer and design communities, reaching over 30,000 visits without any SEO or marketing campaigns, showing how originality and shareability can outperform traditional strategies. A major update expanded the experience with stronger gamification mechanics, including key-based interactions, hidden content, and a game over screen that integrates a contextual CTA while staying true to the game-like tone. The project is now fully playable on mobile, with new easter eggs, an updated avatar, improved systems, and overall refinements. It’s an exploration of how a portfolio can move beyond presentation and become an interactive experience.
