TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share ideas worth spreading. These events are branded TEDx, where x denotes that the event is independently organized. At a TEDx event, videos of TEDTalks and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection with a pre-decided theme. The TED Conference ideal provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but otherwise, individual TEDx events are entirely self-organized by teams or institutions with speakers from the particular locality or region where the event is being held. Talks by these speakers, therefore, have the capacity to be context specific and relevant to the audience. Hence, TEDx events provide an opportunity for people to listen to speakers they can relate with.
